Fakta om Ayobami Adebayo
Ayobami Adebayo, föddes 1988 i Lagos i Nigeria, men flyttade snart med sin familj till universitetsstaden Ile, där hon fortfarande bor. Det är också i Ife med omnejd som debutromanen Stanna hos mig till största delen utspelar sig. Adebayo är litteraturvetare med en examen från Obafemi Awolowo University i Ife. Hon har även studerat Creative Writing vid University of East Anglia, bland annat tillsammans med Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie och Margaret Atwood.
2015 listade Financial Times Adebayo som en av de starka stjärnorna i den nigerianska litteraturen. Hennes hyllade debutroman, Stanna hos mig, gavs 2017 ut i England och USA och nominerades samma år till Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.
